WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police have several people in custody following a 12-hour standoff at a home near a school.
Police say officers including a tactical team were called in Friday after getting a report there was a child inside the home and that a gun had been fired.
People in neighbouring homes were asked to leave the area and the Shaughnessy Park School was secured as a precaution.
Eventually, 13 people left the home and were detained.
Police say no one was hurt.
Five people have been charged.
