When asked if he would return to Winnipeg and once again be the face and voice to promote the 2018 HSC Millionaire Lottery, Winnipeg Blue Bomber legend Milt Stegall didn’t hesitate.

“This place has meant so much for me, done so much for me, and I feel this is the least I can do by, by giving back,” said Stegall, who is serving as the Millionaire Lottery spokesperson for the third straight year.

Stegall was in Winnipeg to help kick off the 2018 HSC Millionaire program in September.

According to HSC Foundation president and CEO, Jonathon Lyon, this lottery is bigger and better than ever before.

This year, there are six grand prize choices valued up to $1.43 million.

Grand Prize options include a beautiful European Farmhouse-style home in River Heights that is fully furnished, travel, two BMWs and $230,000 tax-free cash.

This home at 348 Willow Creek Road in Bridgwater Trails is another of the grand prizes in the HSC Millionaire Lottery.

There’s also a Sterling Home in Charleswood, a stunning Maric Home in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater Trails, a Winnipeg condo and Vancouver Island ocean view cottage or even a home in B.C.’s beautiful Okanagan wine country in Penticton.

Then there’s the prize that will make someone an instant millionaire — $1.1 million in cash.

“When you buy your Millionaire Lottery tickets, you’re raising crucial funds to support the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, to ensure the best possible care is delivered at Manitoba’s flagship hospital,” said Lyon.

“The support from lottery purchases helps make life better for the patients and families who visit every day.”

Lyon said all monies from the Lottery stay right here in Manitoba helping all Manitobans.

“Your parents, children, husband or wife, friends and family. You never know who might need care or when they’ll need it. We all count on the life-saving care provided by HSC.”

The largest project funded through the lottery has been the Centre for Surgical Innovation. Located on the second floor of HSC Winnipeg’s Kleysen Institute for Advanced Medicine, the Centre for Surgical Innovation is home to some of the most advanced health care and research technology in the world.

With two advanced operating suites served by an MRI which can enter operating rooms while the patient is still in surgery, the Centre for Surgical Innovation allows for improved care and advanced research into areas such as head trauma and concussion.

“We have world-class health care in Manitoba, however, the lottery allows us to bring that level of care to the next level,” said Lyon. “The lottery provides revenue to purchase equipment and invest in research that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.”

The Early Bird deadline is November 8 and the final deadline to purchase tickets is November 21.

Early Bird prizes include a choice from the following:

  • A 2018 BMW 530e xDrive Sedan PHEV ($82,162 value) and a 2018 BMW X4 M40i ($80,762 value)
