Woman Stabbed, Robbed Walking in Winnipeg Back Lane

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A 27-year-old woman was stabbed several times and pushed to the ground before being robbed of her belongings in a Winnipeg back lane.

Police were called Friday to the area of McGee Street and Maryland Street north of Wellington Avenue at around 11:45 p.m., where they found the victim suffering from upper body injuries.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable, but guarded condition.

Police say it appears the woman was walking when she was approached by three men. After she was stabbed and pushed to the ground, the suspects further assaulted her before fleeing on foot.

Police arrested all three men on Sunday at around 1:05 a.m. in the 500 block of Sherbrook Street.

Daniel Joey Bouchie, 20, Shaun William Joseph Cook, 19, and John Henry Sinclair, 19, face numerous charges, including robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

They remain in custody.
