Winnipeg police took five people into custody following a convenience store robbery in the 1400 block of Pembina Highway over the weekend.
Two men and a woman entered the store at around 5 a.m. November 11 and left with a large number of cigarettes and lottery tickets.
Responding officers found a stolen Hyundai Sonata parked in the area of Nassau Street and Jessie Avenue and arrested four people inside. Some cigarettes and lottery tickets were seized from the vehicle.
Police say the Sonata was stolen from the 1100 block of Dudley Avenue on October 20 and was displaying a licence plate stolen off of a Hyundai Elantra on November 10.
The K-9 unit tracked a fifth suspect to the area of River Avenue and Osborne Street, where he had entered a vehicle. Police eventually tracked him to a home in the 600 block of Elgin Avenue. Upon his arrest, police found he was in possession of keys to the stolen vehicle.
Ian Thomas Langridge, 41, Billie Erin Kozub, 35, Luisito Christopher Dejesus, 34, and Devon Allan Bath, 33, and Quintina Rochelle Berens-Francois, 22, face numerous charges.
The following day, a 33-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint while leaving an ATM in the 1100 block of Pembina Highway. The suspect also took her car keys, but was scared off when the woman triggered the panic alarm on her remote. The woman wasn’t injured.
The suspect is described as Indigenous, approximately 6’0″ tall and clean shaven with an average build. He was wearing a grey parka with fur around the hood.
