WINNIPEG — A 25-year-old man is in police custody after officers attended a suite in the 500 block of Furby Avenue on Sunday.
Police went to arrest an individual but encountered another suspect instead. While searching him, officers found 1.73 grams of crack cocaine and gang paraphernalia.
Police came back with a search warrant and seized two sawed-off 12-gauge shotguns — one of which was loaded — a sawed-off 9mm carbine rifle with a loaded magazine, a 9mm carbine rifle, and a 7.62mm bolt-action rifle.
Police say they believe the arrest and seized items are related to gang activity in Winnipeg.
