Registration for Festival du Voyageur’s annual Beard Growing Contest is now open. (HEHO.CA)
Men (and women) can now register for Festival du Voyageur‘s 37th annual Beard Growing Contest.
Four categories are in play for 2019: clean shaven, open, Voyageur beard and novelty. For women, a participant can show their originality and make their own beard. The contestant with the most creative beard will take home the grand prize.
Registrants must be 18+ and funds will go support the Heart & Stroke Foundation over the 10-week growing period. More than $8,500 has been raised through the contest over the last eight years.
Men must be clean shaven on December 19 or 20 and pass an “inspection.” From there, beards will be grown over the winter and judged on February 22, 2019 at Voyageur Park.
