Winnipeg police arrested two people Sunday morning after a convenience store was robbed in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue.
Officers responded at around 12:35 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun and a woman carrying a bag. Both suspects fled the store with cigarettes, lottery tickets, and cash.
Police say a witness who followed the suspects had a gun pointed at them.
Officers, including the tactical unit, Air1 and K9 unit, tracked the suspects to an area of Jessie Avenue and Nassau Street North. A replica firearm was found, along with the stolen items.
Police also learned the two were responsible for an armed robbery of a gas station in the 100 block of Osborne Street on Saturday.
John Raven Ward, 34, and Courtney Marie Friesen, 28, each face several robbery and firearm-related charges.
