WINNIPEG — A driver that failed to use her turn signal caught the attention of police on Monday and eventually led to the discovery of drugs and weapons.
Police were on patrol on Maryland Street near Portage Avenue at around 1:40 a.m. when a vehicle failed to use its turn signal. Police pulled the vehicle over on Portage Avenue and Langside Street.
Officers quickly noticed a zip gun near the centre console, as well as near the legs of the front passenger. A sword was also found next to the rear passenger seat.
The driver was found to have a suspended licence, while a search of one of the passengers turned up 5.2 grams of methamphetamine worth an estimated $650 and approximately $265 in Canadian currency.
Katherine Lee Marie Plesier, 34, Joseph Daniel Degrace, 51, and Jeremy Andrew Wales, 28, each face numerous charges and remain in custody.
