A 24-year-old Winkler woman was killed Thursday when her vehicle collided head-on with a semi-trailer on Highway 3.
Manitoba RCMP say the crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. when the woman’s northbound SUV was travelling in the southbound lane and collided with the semi heading south.
The roadway was closed near Road 17 North in the RM of Stanley as emergency crews tended to the scene.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 45-year-old Austin man driving the semi received minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor.
RCMP continue to investigate.
