WINNIPEG — The final numbers are in and Operation Red Nose provided 4,293 safe rides home to Manitobans this holiday season.

The free, volunteer-run service operated across the province up until New Year’s Eve to make sure holiday revellers made it home safely in their own vehicle.

“Programs like Operation Red Nose have an important role to play in renewing our dedication to Manitoba’s road safety every holiday season,” said Judy Murphy, president and CEO of Safety Services Manitoba.

“We know that the hundreds of volunteers in our now 11 participating communities, with the new addition of St. Malo, believe in the service ORN provides.”

ORN operated with the help of 2,619 volunteers and raised more than $92,000 through donations to a variety of organizations in Manitoba.
