WINNIPEG — A man was Tasered early Tuesday after police say they spotted him trying to break into a vehicle in a parkade.
A police supervisor came across the man at around 12:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Smith Street and noticed him trying to enter a vehicle. The man refused the officer’s commands and reached into his waistband, forcing the officer to deploy a Taser.
The suspect was eventually handcuffed and found to have a machete, a knife, break-in tools and a small quantity of methamphetamine.
Brandon Gerhard Storm, 24, has been charged with weapon-related and drug offences, as well as two counts of breaching a recognizance order.
He remains in custody.
