Girl, 14, Charged After Threats Made to Winnipeg School

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have arrested a teen after threats were made on social media surrounding Arthur Day Middle School.

Police say the threats originated Monday morning and additional threats came in later in the day.

The school on Whitehall Boulevard was placed in a hold and secure pattern for the rest of the day as officers remained at the school.

Police arrested a 14-year-old girl Tuesday evening at an address near the school. She has been charged with uttering threats and released on a promise to appear.

Police say the teen didn’t have access to weapons and no actual threat to the community existed.
