RCMP Crest Logo VehicleManitoba RCMP are investigating two instances of firearms being stolen from two locations in the province.

Mounties say a resident reported 12 handguns were stolen from a locked gun safe in a garage in the RM of Springfield on Monday morning. Officers couldn’t locate any suspects in the break and enter.

Souris RCMP received a report the same day regarding a break-in at a home where 41 long guns were stolen. Police say it’s believed the theft happened sometime in the last month.

RCMP don’t believe the two thefts are related.

Anyone with information about the stolen guns is asked to contact Oakbank RCMP at (204) 444-3847 or Souris RCMP at (204) 483-2854
