A Virden man is facing murder charges after a stabbing in the southwestern Manitoba town on Tuesday.
RCMP were called to a home on Queen Street West shortly after midnight for an altercation between two men.
They arrived to find the suspect and victim, a 27-year-old man from Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation, suffering from serious injuries. Both men were taken to hospital for treatment.
Bradley Kenneth Tomms, 22, was originally arrested and charged with aggravated assault and uttering threats.
On Wednesday, the 27-year-old man died in hospital and Tomms was re-arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He will appear in Brandon court at a later date.
RCMP continue to investigate.
