Winnipeg Man Found with Drugs, Weapons in Back of Taxi: Police

Winnipeg Police CrestA Winnipeg man is in police custody after officers found drugs and weapons in his possession last Friday.

Police spotted the man walking away from a stolen vehicle at around 12:20 a.m. in the 300 block of Blake Street and approached him.

The man ran away and tried to enter a nearby taxicab, but was arrested. Police searched the man and found approximately 1.22 grams of cocaine and 1.4 grams of heroin, valued at around $325 in total. They also found $80 in cash.

A further search of a bag in the man’s possession in the back of the taxi turned up a scale, a knife, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle without a stock, a box of .22 calibre ammunition and magazine, as well as several counterfeit $50 Canadian bills.

Walter Darrell Mitchell Bradburn, 39, faces numerous drugs and weapons charges.
