WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Museum is spicing up Valentine’s Day this year with an adults-only party guaranteed to make you tingle.
After Hours: Wild Romance will show you that it’s not only humans who need love, but plants and animals, too!
The science-based evening will include tango lessons, a pop-up talk on all things “horn”-y (and antler-y) by the curator of zoology, and the museum’s first ever “Animal Mating Ritual Dance-Off.” Oh my!
The night will also include a Pollinator “Dating Game” Scavenger Hunt through the museum galleries and a talk by the curator of botany entitled, Plants Just Wanna Have Sex.
And who said Valentine’s Day has to be boring?
The After Hours event is geared toward groups of friends, couples, singles, non-singles and those just looking to have a good time. A cash bar is available, accompanied by snacks, Little Brown Jug beer tasting and chocolate samples from Aschenti Cocoa.
The museum will also host a Kids’ Night Out Valentine’s Party downstairs for children aged five to 12.
Admission to either event is $15 each and $12 for members. Both parties run from 6-11 p.m.
