Winnipeg hockey fans eager to see the WHL’s Winnipeg Ice play in the city next season are quickly securing their spots to purchase season tickets.

The franchise revealed Thursday that only 100 season seats remain. Deposits opened to the public on January 30 — and more than 1,000 seats were secured in just 24 hours.

50 Below Sports + Entertainment says fans unable to secure season seats will have the first opportunity to purchase should additional capacity become available at Wayne Fleming Arena.

Final pricing and seat selection are expected to begin following the end of the current (Kootenay) Ice WHL season.

The Ice will play their inaugural 2019-20 season in Winnipeg beginning in the fall on the University of Manitoba campus. The team will play two seasons at Wayne Fleming Arena while construction of The RINK is underway in south Winnipeg.
