Winnipeg police have confirmed reports that the two men gunned down inside of a popular late-night eatery simultaneously shot each other early Wednesday.
Police say the shootings at Johnny G’s on Main Street happened just before 1:30 a.m. and both men were taken to hospital in serious condition. They later died in hospital.
They have been identified as Anthony Brian Cromastey, 30, and Rodney Albert Kirton, 25.
Police say a female staff member was hurt in the shooting and received non-life threatening injuries. She has since been released from hospital.
Following the shooting, a third suspect assaulted Kirton, according to police. Braedon Lee Gordon, 18, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. He remains in custody.
Police say the shooting was gang-related and all three men were part of the same gang.
