WINNIPEG — Two girls were able to safely escape an attempted abduction while walking in the 2200 block of Burrows Avenue on Monday.
Police say a nine-year-old girl and her seven-year-old sister were walking at around 9 a.m. when a suspicious man approached them. He motioned to grab the elder girl, but she was able to pull away and both girls ran to a nearby safe location.
The suspect didn’t say anything and neither girl was hurt in the incident.
The suspect is described as Indigenous in appearance, in his 30s or 40s, under 5’9″ tall, thin build, dark shoulder length hair, and was wearing a dark jacket, grey toque, and jeans.
He was last seen driving towards Keewatin Street.
