Man Killed Near Virden After Clothing Gets Caught in Grain Auger

A 63-year-old Prairie View man was killed Monday when his clothing got caught in a grain auger.

Manitoba RCMP were called to the farm site about 15 kilometres northwest of Virden just before 9:30 p.m.

Emergency crews attended to the site in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth to find the man deceased on scene after suffering serious injuries.

Police say the man was also operating a tractor at the time of the accident.

Virden RCMP and Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health continue to investigate.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.
