A 35-year-old Roblin man was killed Saturday when his snowmobile collided with thick brush in the RM of Riding Mountain West.
Manitoba RCMP were called to the scene at around 11 p.m. on a groomed snowmobile trail northwest of the Asessippi Ski Area.
Police say the man was travelling on the trail — about eight kilometres northwest of Inglis — when he failed to negotiate a turn. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
The rider was wearing a helmet at the time, but alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
RCMP continue to investigate.
