The Winnipeg Goldeyes have added left-handed pitcher Robby Sexton to the team’s roster.
The baseball club on Thursday announced the addition of the Columbus, Ohio native, who pitched in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ organization in 2018 where he was 1-3 with a 4.37 ERA in 45 relief appearances for the High-A California League’s Visalia Rawhide.
“I’m thrilled to add Robby to the roster,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney. “He’s a strike-throwing left-hander that is hungry to compete.”
Sexton was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 14th round in 2016 out of Wright State University in Ohio.
The Goldeyes now have 23 players under contract for the 2019 season. American Association clubs may carry up to 28 players during spring training, which begins May 4th.
