Thompson RCMP Investigating Fatal Hit and Run, Suspicious Death

RCMP Crest LogoA man in his 40s was killed early Friday morning after RCMP say he was hit by a vehicle on Provincial Road 391.

Police were called to the scene near the city of Thompson shortly after 1 a.m., where they found the victim lying on the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle didn’t stay to speak with authorities and police are looking to locate him or her.

In a separate incident roughly two hours later, RCMP were called to the local hospital for a 24-year-old man who had been shot. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.
