Garbage - Trash

What is plalking? No, not planking, but plalking. Well, let us tell you.

Take Pride Winnipeg! has launched a new program, the Heart Winnipeg Plalking Club. It’s essentially a club for people who want to exercise while helping to beautify Winnipeg’s streets by picking up litter while walking (plalking).

“This is a great program for those who have had heart issues,” said Tom Ethans, executive director at Take Pride Winnipeg!

“With spring finally here and the snow melting, this is when Winnipeg is in need of help to rid the streets of litter. Walking is good exercise, and by adding the extra element of picking up litter, you can further improve your cardiovascular health.”

Take Pride Winnipeg! has partnered with the Reh-Fit Centre to develop the Heart Winnipeg Plalking Club. Sign-up sheets to join the club are available at the Reh-Fit Centre, with the first cleanup planned for Saturday, April 13 from 10 am to 11:30 am. For more information, visit takepride.mb.ca.
