An 82-year-old woman from Manitou was killed Monday when her vehicle came into the path of an oncoming semi-trailer on Highway 3.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 5 p.m. at Front Avenue in Manitou. RCMP say the vehicle turned eastbound onto Highway 3 and collided with the westbound semi.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene, while her 87-year-old male passenger, also from Manitou, was taken to hospital in stable condition.
The 24-year-old Fraserwood woman driving the semi wasn’t injured.
Drugs, alcohol and speed are not believed to be a factors in the collision, according to police.
