Corydon Avenue Café the Target of Hate Crime as Woman Assaulted

Winnipeg police are investigating a robbery, vandalism and assault at a Corydon Avenue café as a hate crime.

Police were called to the BerMax Caffé + Bistro in the 1800 block of Corydon at around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday.

First responders found a woman within the café had been assaulted. She was taken to hospital in stable condition and later released.

Police say the business was the likely target of a robbery, while the establishment had also been severely vandalized to include spray-painted anti-Semitic graffiti.
