Man Fatally Shot Near Winnipeg Railway Track

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWINNIPEG — A man has died after being shot near a rail line in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue early Thursday.

Police responded just after 3 a.m. and found the man unresponsive. He was taken to hospital in critical condition and pronounced deceased.

He has been identified as Joselito Fernandez, 53, of Winnipeg.

Police are asking anyone in the area with video surveillance or who may have heard/seen something unusual to contact the homicide unit at (204) 986-6508.
