Residents living in Carman will soon have access to faster internet after the town and Bell MTS announced an expansion of the all-fibre broadband network.
The technological upgrade will reach approximately 1,600 homes and businesses throughout the town.
“Access to high-speed Internet is a priority for Carman and this Bell MTS investment will provide meaningful economic benefits for our community, while helping us keep pace with changing technology,” said Carman Mayor Brent Owen.
Bell MTS says the direct fibre connections will offer the Pembina Valley community access to gigabit fibe internet service as well as fibe TV television service with 4K picture quality.
The network expansion is being fully funded by Bell MTS and includes approximately 40 kilometres of new fibre installation directly to homes and commercial locations throughout Carman. The first customer connections are expected later this year.
