Four people walked away from a plane crash Wednesday evening near the Gillam Airport when an aircraft crash-landed on the frozen lake.

The Super King Air 200 aircraft was a medevac flight en route from Winnipeg to Churchill when it attempted to make an emergency landing.

The flight touched down on the lake before coming to a stop at the edge of the runway.

Two pilots and two paramedics were on board at the time and no injuries were reported. However, all four people were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Transportation Safety Board and RCMP are investigating.
