FortWhyte Alive’s Earth Day event is Sunday, April 28.

Earth Day happened to fall on Easter Sunday this year, so FortWhyte Alive is holding their celebrations this weekend instead.

The nature destination is running a day full of family-friendly activities on Sunday that encourage outdoor recreation, green transportation, and promote actions leading to sustainable living.

“It’s really about getting outdoors and connecting with nature to celebrate and honour the planet,” said Sarah Carson, marketing and communications manager at FortWhyte Alive.

Activities run Sunday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The program for the free admission day includes activities such as interpretive hikes, scavenger hunts, face painting, and environment-themed children’s entertainment at the CBC Manitoba entertainment stage.
