Winnipeg police say a man who was fatally shot on April 18 was the victim of a random robbery.
Joselito Fernandez, 53, was walking along the rail line near the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue when he was approached by an unknown man at around 3 a.m.
Police say Fernandez was robbed of his property and then shot. He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Investigators working the case arrested a suspect on Friday in the area of Redwood Avenue and Battery Street.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder, failing to comply with a probation order and several firearms offences.
