STONY MOUNTAIN, Man. — The RCMP has charged three inmates following the fifth homicide at a Manitoba prison in the past 16 months.
A 42-year-old prisoner at the federal Stoney Mountain Institution, north of Winnipeg, was found April 22 with life-threatening injuries.
He died later in hospital.
Kevin Curtis Edwards and Peter Fisher, who are both in their 20s, were charged last Wednesday with first-degree murder.
Aaron Michael Ducharme, who is 30, was arrested two days later on the same charge.
Police say their investigation continues.
