Two men were arrested Saturday after one of them allegedly pointed a loaded handgun at staff inside a Winnipeg bar.
Police received numerous calls of an armed man inside a bar/club in the 1100 block of Arlington Street just before 10 p.m.
Police say two men attempted to leave the bar carrying out alcoholic drinks they had purchased, but were stopped by security. An altercation broke out and one of the men took out a handgun and pointed it at staff before fleeing.
Employees told police the suspect may be in the company of another man and officers began a search. Air 1, the K9 unit and Tactical Support Team responded and eventually spotted him running in a rear lane in the 800 block of Alexander Avenue. He was later found to be hiding in a yard and taken into custody. Police also recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
The second suspect later returned to the bar and was identified by staff. Officers on scene arrested him and found a knife, as well as three small bags of cocaine in his possession.
An 18-year-old man and 22-year-old man remain in custody and face a number of charges.
