Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a man after a stabbing Wednesday evening that sent a man in his 20s to hospital near Health Sciences Centre.
Police responded to the area of Olivia Street and McDermot Avenue at around 5:10 p.m. and found the man suffering from stab wounds. Officers began administering first aid and the victim was sent to hospital in critical condition, but later upgraded to critical/stable.
Jamie Jason James Suggashie, 29, of Winnipeg was arrested in the area at around 9:30 p.m.
He remains in custody and has been charged with aggravated assault, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
