“Certified safety professionals help improve the safety and health outcomes of the workplace,” says Trevor Johnson, president of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.
“Safety professionals are extraordinarily people-focused, with a passion for prevention. For that reason, they play a vital role in the lives of Canadians coast-to-coast every day.”
Wednesday was Occupational Health and Safety Professional Day, while Safety and Health Week is running May 5-11.
Some local events are also taking place to focus on workplace safety.
