WINNIPEG — A man had an axe pressed up against his throat at the Osborne Rapid Transit Station Thursday evening.

Police say the incident happened at around 5:40 p.m. before the victim was able to force the axe away, but cut his hand in the process. The suspect then chased a woman nearby and also threatened her with the axe.

Steven Andrew Beaulieu, 33, was arrested in the area of Jessie Avenue and Pembina Highway after a brief foot pursuit.

He faces assault and weapons charges, as well as failing to comply with a probation order.
