Winnipeg Man Dies Following Argument Surrounding a Boat

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWINNIPEG — A man was killed Saturday after a fight broke out surrounding a boat in the Tyndall Park area.

Police say the victim and a neighbour were attempting to back a boat into a garage in the rear lane near Burrows Avenue and Albina Way at around noon.

The suspect is said to have tried driving through the lane at the time and an argument broke out. The victim was assaulted and sustained a serious injury, rendering him unresponsive when police arrived.

The victim has been identified as Calvin Chan, 66, of Winnipeg.

Dennis Lloyd Jr. Penner, 24, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with manslaughter. He remains in custody.
