Two Pedestrians Killed in Accident Near Nairn and Panet

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestTwo pedestrians have died after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday at the intersection of Panet Road and Regent Avenue West/Nairn Avenue.

Police responded at around 12:20 a.m. and began medical treatment before both people could be taken to hospital. A man and a woman were listed in critical condition and were later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle, which was travelling westbound on Regent Avenue at the time, remained on scene and met with police.

Officers say the two people were hit while crossing southbound at Panet Road.

Investigators are looking for possible witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (204) 986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).

There is no word on charges.
