RCMP Crest Logo VehiclePOWERVIEW, Man. — More arrests have been made in a double-fatal shooting in Manitoba more than two years ago.

RCMP say they answered a call in late February 2017 about a shooting at a home in the community of St. Georges, about 120 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

Officers found the bodies of two men — a discovery that launched a lengthy homicide investigation called Project Distort.

In December 2018, a 54-year-old man from Fort Alexander, Man., Claude Francis Guimond, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The same counts were laid earlier this month against two more Fort Alexander residents, Shezna Cynthia Guimond and Jason Andrew Bruyere, both in their 20s.

The pair have also been charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

All three remain in custody.

“This was a complex investigation that required resources from numerous RCMP units,” major crime unit spokeswoman, Cpl. Laura Ledrew, said in a release.

“We do not anticipate any further arrests.”
