City of Winnipeg LogoThe City of Winnipeg is closing Fermor Avenue between Lagimodiere Boulevard and Plessis Road to one lane in each direction beginning next month.

The closure will take effect Monday, June 10 for the Fermor Avenue asphalt reconstruction and widening project.

“This project includes construction work in both 2019 and 2020. The work in 2019 will be done on the eastbound lanes and will include road rehabilitation, installation of land drainage systems and culverts, new path construction, connection of Royal Mint Drive to Fermor Avenue, widening of the existing Fermor right-of-way, and reconstruction of the roadway with asphalt pavement,” the city said in a release.

Motorists should expect significant delays, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes.
