Stingray Beach is now open at Assiniboine Park Zoo. (HANDOUT)
Just in time for the long weekend, a new exhibit is now open at Assiniboine Park Zoo.
The Stingray Beach exhibit opened Thursday, allowing visitors to observe and interact with these engaging creatures.
“Stingray Beach gives us a valuable opportunity to expand our conservation messaging to include the health of our oceans and aquatic wildlife while providing an exciting new experience for our visitors,” said Grant Furniss, senior director, animal care and conservation.
An optional feeding experience will be offered daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. for $10. Feeding participants must be at least five years of age.
Stingrays will be at the zoo for at least a year in the rotating exhibit gallery but could remain longer.
The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the long weekend, including Victoria Day. The new exhibit is included with regular zoo admission.
