WINNIPEG — Anthony Novak scored just eight minutes into the game as the Hamilton Forge downed the Winnipeg Valour 2-0 on Thursday in Canadian Premier League play.
Tristan Borges added a goal in the 69th minute for Hamilton (2-2-1), while goalkeeper Triston Henry had two saves.
Novak’s goal came on a massive breakaway, streaking past the Winnipeg (2-3-0) defence by yards and then dekeing out goalkeeper Tyson Farago for an easy score.
Borges fired a looping shot from just beyond the penalty spot for the second goal of the night.
