Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man following a collision late last year that injured several people.

On December 7, 2018, four male youths were taken to hospital after a crash near the intersection of Pembina Highway and Ducharme Avenue just before 1 a.m.

Police say a white four-door sedan had been travelling southbound on Pembina Highway and reached speeds in excess of 100 km/h. The speed limit in the area where the crash occurred varies from 50-60 km/h.

A 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and required extended treatment in hospital. Three others, including the driver, were also sent to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle attended police headquarters on Sunday and was arrested.

The Winnipeg man faces two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. He was released on a promise to appear.
