Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing on Sherbrook Street

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police have charged a suspect after a man in his 50s was fatally stabbed during a fight Friday night in the area of Sherbrook Street and Sara Avenue.

Officers were called to the intersection at around 8:45 p.m. for a fight involving several people.

The victim was stabbed in the upper body and police began administering first aid. He was taken to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Robert Christian Donaldson, 51.

Police have charged Rodney Byron Williams, 34, with second-degree murder and two counts of assault with a weapon.

Williams remains in custody.
