Summer is an exciting time for kids.

Travelling to festivals, fairs, events, or across the country. Often, these fairs and festivals draw people of all ages.

The Winnipeg Police Service has tips for parents and guardians ensure the summer is safe for children.

  • Be within arm’s length of your child. Always!
  • Remember what your child is wearing when you’re out. Take a photo if necessary or write it down
  • Prior to attending events, establish a safe meeting place with your children in case you’re separated
  • Try to encourage your child to memorize your cell phone numbers.

Most events have Missing Children’s Rally Tents. Winnipeg Police recommend parents and guardians locate these tents upon arrival.
