Brandon police have arrested a 33-year-old man after he allegedly posed as an undercover police officer and demanded sex from a female victim.
Police say the man approached the victim on June 10 and convinced her to look at an apartment that was available for rent. Once inside, the man demanded sex from her and threatened to take her to jail for “prostitution” if she didn’t apply.
The man was located on Wednesday and arrested on charges of sexual assault and personating a police officer. He will appear in Brandon court on August 6.
Police say all plainclothes or undercover police officers have identification in the form of badges and ID cards that they can present to you.
