STARS’ Radiothon Raising Funds for Critical Care

STARS air ambulance is taking to the airwaves on Wednesday to raise critical dollars for the services they provide to patients in need.

The Critical Care on the Air Radiothon will air on Winnipeg’s Bell Media radio stations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 19.

“We are very excited to partner with the talented staff at these stations as we work to raise funds for our Manitoba operations,” said Lori Derksen, STARS development officer, events.

Every dollar raised during the 12-hour radiothon will stay in the province to support STARS’ life-saving work.

STARS saw record call volumes for service in May, responding to 88 calls in Manitoba. The previous high for the month was 61 calls.

Contributions can be made online at criticalcareontheair.ca, texting STARS to 45678 to make a $20 donation or by calling 1-877-57-STARS (577-8277).
