Winnipeg police have identified the victim of the city’s latest homicide after an assault in a Point Douglas park.
Gabriel Radford Coates, 44, was assaulted overnight or during the morning hours of Wednesday in a park near Higgins Avenue and Maple Street.
Police are treating the death as a homicide and ask anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact them at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS.
Businesses in the area are asked to check for video surveillance that may help with the investigation.
