Two people were killed Monday when the eastbound motorcycle they were riding collided with a deer on Highway 16.

The crash happened at around 10:55 a.m. on Highway 16 at PR 250, near Newdale, Manitoba.

RCMP say the 64-year-old man driving the motorcycle, along with his 76-year-old female passenger, were both thrown from the bike.

The woman was pronounced deceased on scene, while the man was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Both people were from Strathclair, Manitoba.
