WINNIPEG — Newly-constructed washrooms are now open to the public in La Barriere Park just south of the Perimeter Highway on Waverley Street.

The four-season washrooms opened over the weekend and replace the original facilities, which were built in the mid-1960s.

“La Barriere Park is a hidden gem in our city parks system,” said Waverley West Councillor Janice Lukes.

“As south Winnipeg continues to grow, more and more residents are discovering La Barriere Park and the many recreational opportunities it offers.”

The new building is located off the main parking lot, near the sports fields and picnic areas.

The project cost the city $500,000 to complete.
